Development Objective:
Child labour in the Philippines is addressed based on a comprehensive, rights-based and gender sensitive framework.
Immediate Objectives
- Developed a foundation in working on the issue of child labour through data gathering, education and organizing activities in project areas;
- Relevant NGOs and government agencies have become aware of the issue through the production and circulation of popular information materials on child labor as well as other education activities; and
- Contributed to the understanding and appreciation in project areas on the following:
- the rights of the child;
- international conventions relevant to child labor;
- national laws relevant to the issue;
- extent and hazards of child labour in project areas; and
- the pressing need to act on the issue
